Quantitative Variables are the variable that are measured on a numeric or quantitative scale and these are the variables on which arithmetic operations make sense.

Quantitative variables : Weight , SAT score , Height , weight , GPA , systolic blood pressure

The above mentioned variables are quantitative variables since they can be measured and on comparing them with a same set of data would makes.

Favorite color and major are not quantitative since it is not numeric.while ZIP code is numeric but it can't be scaled and arithmetic operations on it would not make any sense.
