Find the 25th percentile

Homework Answers

Answer #1

25 the percentile is a partion Value above which lies 75 percent of data and below which lies 25 percent of data. Percentile divides data in 100 equal parts. Quartiles divide data in four equal parts . So 25 th percentile corresponds to 1st quartile . We will arrange the data set in ascending order

5 6 7 8 12 30 32 40 . Total there are 8 data points . We will divide data in four equal parts.

8 / 4 = 2

So first quartile lies at 2 nd position in dataset . So after arranging data number 6 lies at second position . Therefore our 1 st quartile is 6 . And hence 25 th percentile is also 6 .
