Answer #1

Lets take a very simple example here.

Suppose there is a college and in a certain class there are 3 subjects namely Economics, Statistics and Mathematics.

So, down below we have the marks obtained by 15 students in each of these subjects out of 100.

Descriptive Statistics can be divided into 2 simple parts:

  • Measures of Central Tendency (Mean, Median, and Mode).

  • Measures of Dispersion or Variation (Variance, Standard Deviation, Range).

The Statistics Project assignment has been broken down into multiple parts and you will complete these parts throughout the course. This week's assignment allows you to become familiar with opening data and viewing it in Microsoft® Excel® and using the Analysis Toolpak. In research, the individual data points are entered into databases, but for the purpose of this course, the data is provided in a spreadsheet for you in the Happiness and Engagement Dataset. Imagine you have been asked to...

The assignment is: Next, in SPSS, run frequency distributions for each of the categorical variables and descriptive statistics for each of the continuous variables. Consider also creating a graph or chart in SPSS to describe these distributions. For variables that have very small frequencies in at least one category (e.g., less than 7 people in a category), think about combining that category with another if it makes conceptual sense (i.e., there are very few Native Americans, does it make sense...

Describe at least three effective methods for improving reliability of a classroom test? What does interrater reliability measure? In what types of cases or assessments is it important? Describe the factors that influence reliability. Provide an example of each. A reliability coefficient (r) and a standard error of measurement(SEM) were computed on a test with 10 items. What would happen to those statistics if the test was increased to forty items?
