Question

Provide examples of how the t test and ANOVA could be used to compare means within your work environment or domain of interest. Discuss the appropriateness of using the t test versus ANOVA.

Answer #1

t test which is used to compare the only two means of a given factor. But our intrest is to compare sevrsev means that is more than two means then we use ANOVA for the analysis purpose.

In ANOVA we use F test for comparing several means. If the null hypothesis is rejected then we conclude that the all factors are significantly difference. Then our intrest is which of the factors are most significantly differ as compare to other for this purpose we use t test.

t test and ANOVA are two different methods of comparing means.

Generally, we compare two independent sample means via
independent two-sample t test. Is it possible to compare two
independent sample means using ANOVA? Please provide a explanation
and an example.

Explain how analysis of variance (ANOVA) could be used to test a
study hypothesis

True or False
To compare the means of three groups, we can use t-test instead
of ANOVA.

If ANOVA uses the F-ratio between variances ( variance between
groups and variance within groups) , how can it
make decision about means of the samples groups?
Could you please explain the reason of using a test
that uses variances to make conclusion about means ?Thanks for your
help.

1. Provide an example
of a study that would utilize a t test for independent
means.
2. How is this
different from a situation in which you would carry out a
t test for dependent means?

1.Using the following table, provide
three examples of a simple one-way ANOVA, two examples of a
two-factor ANOVA, and one example of a three-factor ANOVA. Complete

The two-sample t-test is one of the most commonly used
hypothesis tests in Six Sigma work. It is applied to compare
whether the average difference between two groups is really
significant or if it is due instead to random chance. Select an
application of the two-sample t-test and describe how it was
justified to use the t-test for this particular application.
