The population proportion of of kids that visit the zoo each day is .46. When I surveyed the zoo one day I found that 10 out of 30 people that visited the zoo were children. Test this hypothesis at the .05 significance level. Assume a random sample.

Ha : p ≠ ​0.46

calculate test statistics

z= −1.392

test statistics = −1.39

calculate P-Value

P-Value = 2 * P(z < -1.39)

find P(z < -1.39) we get

P(z < -1.39) = 0.0821

P-Value = 2 * 0.0821

P-value = 0.1642

since ( P-Value = 0.1642 ) > ( =0.05)

Hence null hypothesis is not rejected

failed to reject the null hypothesis

Therefore, there is enough evidence to claim that the population proportion of of kids that visit the zoo each day is .46.
