Peter should use Poission distribution because the parameter of the poission distribution is equal to mean and we can calculate mean of an arrival from mean customer arrive with in a an hour ,after finding mean ,the parameter of the poission distribution becomes mean ,so we can the probability as well as probability distribution function of the poission distribution and the distribution function of the poission gives the number of customers arrive at a time t.

The binomial distribution is not applicable here because we donot have a fixed number of trail i.e. maximum number of customer that can come.

So Peter should use Poission distribution.
