Given that,

= 49

s =3

n = 32

Degrees of freedom = df = n - 1 =32 - 1 = 31

At 95% confidence level the t is ,

= 1 - 95% = 1 - 0.95 = 0.05

/ 2= 0.05 / 2 = 0.025

t /2,df = t0.025,31 = 2.040 ( using student t table)

Margin of error = E = t/2,df * (s /n)

= 2.040 * (3 / 32)

= 1.08
