When the drug is ready for human testing, a sample of 10,000 pet owners is randomly selected from across the United States. Of this initial 10,000 people, only ¼ of them can participate due to other health complications and/or availability. Of this smaller group, only ¼ are willing to participate. This leaves 625 people in the sample.

There should be a control group firstly. Three groups should be formed excluding the control group, one group given a light dose of the drug, another group given a mild dose of the drug, and the last group given a heavy dose of the drug. Then the results should be analyzed by checking which group showed the maximum improvement.

b.If the results of the study do show that the drug is effective, what is the population that the results can be generalized to?

Since there is non-response and convenience bias in the data, we cannot say that the results can be generalized to the population.
