If the two variables being used both are quantitative in nature one can make use of stratified or cluster sampling easily for this dataset

Since temperature has an interval scale ( this implies no true zero exists and ratios of the interval cannot be taken) and age is ratio scale one can make use of Stratified sampling

in this sampling one can form groups based on age. All the groups would be homogenous among themselves and different temperatures can be recorded for each group

These groups formed on the basis of age are called stratas

Then finally some subjects are selected from each strata so that the final sample includes all age groups and resembles the true population correctly

Hence stratified sampling method is the best for this dataset
