What is the difference between statistical testing and effect size?
Effect size is the estimated/observed absolute difference. For instance, the effect size of drug A was a 10% lower blood glucose level among those taking the drug and placebos, on average.
Statistical significance means the observed effect size has a less that x%chance of happening at random. For instance, if there were only 2 people taking the drugs and 2controls, it is pretty like to see a 10%difference. However, if we had 2000 in each group, there is a pretty low chance they would randomly be 10% different.
