Homework Answers

Answer #1

Claim: More than 28% of its students plan to go into general practice.

The null and alternative hypothesis is

H0: P = 0.28

H1: P > 0.28

Level of significance = 0.05

Sample size = n = 130

x = 51

Test statistic is

P-value = P(Z > 2.85) = 1 - P(Z < 2.85) = 1 - 0.9978 = 0.0022

P-value < 0.05 we reject null hypothesis.

Conclusion: More than 28% of its students plan to go into general practice.
