Homework Answers

Answer #1

Ans:

a)

H0: Percentage of people who consume Oatmeal and Almond cereal is the same for all four brands

Ha:Percentage of people who consume Oatmeal and Almond cereal is not the same for all four brands.

b)H0 is claim

c)Chi square test

df=4-1=3

alpha=0.05

critical chi square value=CHIINV(0.05,3)=7.815

d)Right tailed

Reject H0,if chi square>7.815

e)

Expected count=1000/4=250

Brand Observed(fo) Expected (fo-fe)^2/fe
A 212 250 5.776
B 284 250 4.624
C 254 250 0.064
D 250 250 0
Total 1000 1000 10.464

Test statistic:

Chi square=10.464

f)As,test statistic is greater than 7.815,we Reject H0.

There is sufficient evidence  to reject the null hypothesis that the percentage of people who consume Oatmeal and Almond cereal is the same for all four brands.
