Homework Answers

Answer #1

Solution:

given,

Fixed cost C = $10968.75

variable cost c = $1.75 //per a printing a catalog

revenue generated per a catalog if mailed r = $ 8.50

a)break even is condition where the net profit is 0, i.e total cost equals total revenue.

answer = 1625

b) revenue at break even point = number of catalogs mailed * revenue per catalog = 1625 * 8.5 = 13812.5

c)

revenue generated for 2000 catalogs = 2000 * r

= 2000 * 8.50 = 17000

total expenditure = C + c * 2000

= 10968.75 + 1.75(2000) = 14468.75

profit they make if 2000 catalogs are mailed = 17000 - 14468.75 = 2531.25
