In two or more complete sentences, formulate how to use technology to calculate the appropriate regression model for the given data. You are not required to find the model, just choose the appropriate regression and explain how to use the technology.
(-5,11),(-2,1.7),(-1,-0.2), (0,-1.5), (2,-2.3), (3,-1.8), (5,1)

Answer #1

With the help of technology, we could plot the data points on a scatterplot and use that graph to find out the appropriate regression model to be used (linear, quadratic, exponential, logarithmic etc.). If we plot these points on a scatterplot, we can easily see that the type of regression to be used should be quadratic. After getting the appropriate regression model, we could find the regression equation with the help of technology & interpolate and extrapolate our data to find out the missing values. This works best if we want to predict any value which is not a part of our original dataset.
