Explain what two-sample hypothesis testing is used for and why it is used

Homework Answers

Answer #1
  1. A two sample hypothesis testing is done when we want to compare som quantity for two populations.
  2. It includes testing the equality of means, proportions, variances, etc, of two populations.
  3. For testing equality of means, the standardized difference in the sample means is compared to 0.
  4. For testing equality of means, the standardized difference in the sample proportions is computed.ans compared to 0.
  5. For testing equality of variances, the ratio of sample variances is computed and the value is compared to 1.
  6. For any case, a critical value is computed and the decision regarding the acceptance or rejection of the null hypothesis is made.
