how do you find the p-value of number of observations isn't given?

how do you find the p-value of number of observations isn't given?

Answer #1

P value is affected by sample size and the magnitude of effect... generally larger the sample size the more likely a study will find a significant relationship if one exists...as the sample size increases the impact of random error is reduced...if standard deviation is given...then for z test if test statistic is given..then we find p value using this test statistic....then P value=2P(z >lzol) for two tailed test....but for any other test if sample size is not given...we can't find p value...as P value depends on sample size....

You are given a number of independent and identically distributed observations that are (continuously) uniformly distributed in the interval from X to X+6 , where X is an unknown real valued parameter. Derive the ML (maximum likelihood) estimator for X. Given the observations 27.74, 25.77, 26.86, 25.76, 26.71, 26.47, 27.10, 26.63, 26.45, 28.77, 30.31 , compute the ML estimate for X. If the ML estimate is a range of values, then compute the midpoint of the interval of ML estimates...
