Assume that you are a public health research officer investigating a disease outbreak, and your supervisor is recommending that you use probability sampling. Would you agree with your supervisor's recommendation? Why, or why not? What other sampling method could you use?
In probability sampling, you start with a complete sampling frame of all eligible individuals from which you select your sample. In this way, all eligible individuals have a chance of being chosen for the sample, and you will be more able to generalise the results from your study. Among the probability sampling methods it's preferable to use Stratified sampling method.
In a study of disease outbreak, we may stratify the population by sex, to ensure equal representation of men and women
