The Civic Arts Guild is having a show. There is room for 37 booths. The guild has 81 painters, 58 sculptors, and 59 weavers. Use the Hamilton method to apportion the booths to each of the three groups?
By using Hamilton method for apportioning :
Total artists = 81+58+59 = 198
Booths = 37
Booths for group = (artists in group) / (total artists / no. of booths)
= (artists in group) / (198/37)
Booths for painters = (81) / (198/37) = 15.14
= 15 {Rounded}
Booths for sculptors = (58) / (198/37) = 10.84
= 11 {Rounded}
Booths for weavers = (59) / (198/37) = 11.03
= 11 {Rounded}
