Homework Answers

Answer #1

Given

K = 7 group of plant

n = 7*24 = 168

SS Between = 124.875

SS TOTAL = 1511.085

1) now calculate ss within

SS WITHIN = SS TOTAL - SS BETWEEN

= 1511.085 - 124.875

SS WITHIN = 1386.21

2) now calculate df

DF OF BETWEEN = K-1 = 7-1 = 6

DF OF WITHIN = n - k = 168-7 = 161

Df total = n-1 = 168 - 1 =167

3) MSSB= SS BETWEEN /DF OF SS

= 124.875/6

MSSB = 20.8125

MSSW = SS within /df within

= 1386.21/161

MSSW = 8.61

4) F = MSSB/MSSW

= 20.8125/8.61

F = 2.417

5) p value is 0.0290

P value = 0.0290
