Homework Answers

Answer #1

Nominal data is the data where the variable is qualitative and have different categories but with no specified order, i.e., the categories cannot be compared (ex. gender: male and female). While Ordinal data is also qualitative but here the categories have order/rank (ex. product review: excellent, good and bad). Interval and ratio are quantitative data (ex. height of students in a class)

Eye colors of people can be categorised into different labels such as black, brown, blue, etc. Hence the data is qualitative. These categories does not have any particular order i.e., they don't have any preference or rank. So the data of eye colors of people is qualitative and with no order, hence this is a NOMINAL DATA.
