What is the difference between independent and dependent events
Independent Events:
When two events are said to be independent of each other, what this means is that the probability that one event occurs in no way affects the probability of the other event occurring.
Examples:
1)Owning a dog and growing your own herb garden.
2)Paying off your mortgage early and owning a Chevy Cavalier.
Dependent Events:
When two events are said to be dependent, the probability of one event occurring influences the likelihood of the other event.
Examples:
1)Robbing a bank and going to jail.
2)Not paying your power bill on time and having your power cut off
