We have to construct a frequency distribution for the data using five classes and describe the shape of the distribution.

Following is the data:

3 6 7 6 0 6 1 7 8 4

1 5 7 5 9 1 5 3 9 9

2 2 3 0 8 8 4 0 2 4

Minimum = 0

Maximum = 9

k = Number of Classes = 5

Thus

Class Width = ( Max - Min ) / k

Class Width = ( 9 - 0 ) / 5

Class Width = 9 / 5

Class Width = 1.8

Class Width = 2

Thus following are the classes:

Classes:

0 - 1

2 - 3

4 - 5

6 - 7

8 - 9

Now we have to count number of values that fall in each class interval.
