True or False: The more samples taken in a scientific study, the longer the amount of time it will take to complete the research on the samples. statistics

Answer #1

True, The larger the sample, the more confident we can be that it accurately reflects what exists in the population, but large samples can be extremely expensive and time-consuming. A small sample is less expensive and time-consuming, but it is not as accurate. Therefore, in situations requiring minimal error and maximum accuracy of prediction of population values, large samples will be required. In cases where more errors can be tolerated, small samples will do.

TRUE OR FALSE: Statistics is the scientific application of mathematical principles to the collection, analysis, and presentation of numerical data. Statisticians apply their mathematical and statistical knowledge to the design of surveys and experiments; the collection, processing, and analysis of data; and the interpretation of the experiment and survey results. Opinion polls, statements of accuracy on scales and other measuring devises, and information about average earnings in an occupation are all usually the work of statisticians.

To study what proportion of students will take statistics at UCW, undergrad students were repeatedly sampled with samples of size 36. The sampling distribution shows that 80% of them must take this course to complete a degree. What is the probability that more than 85% of the UCW students take statistics? What is the standard error of the population proportion?
