When construction a confidence interval for a proportion or for a mean do I have to verify if assumptions and conditions are met or not?
When Hypothesis testing I know I have to check them.
Can someone help me out I don't get it ?
thank you
While it is suggested that one should check for normality conditions in both cases. But, please note that most tests work well on many distributions due to the mighty central limit theorem.
Please understand that confidence interval and Z-value against Z-critical convey the same thing, so you can absolutely reject a hypothesis if your confidence interval doesn't contain the value you are checking against. You can also meanwhile calculate Z-score and then check against Z-critical, But both will give the same answer.
