In observational study research observe the individuals in the population under study and researchers do not have control over those individuals so overall in these type of designs researcher only try to find the population characteristics under study .in these type of studies we do not have researcher intervention.

In experimental study design researchers trying to do find the effect of different things on the subjects under study.
