Hypothesis Test: Difference Between Means
Sample A: 20 Observations
Sample B: 43 Observations
My question is: Can I run an hypothesis test for the difference between means with a small sample(20) and a large sample(43)? If so, what are the steps?
PS: I usually deal with exercises where the two samples have equal amount of observations.
We can run hypothesis test of difference between two
means with a small sample and a large sample i.e. with
two samples of varying sample sizes.
The test-statistic for testing equality of two sample means
assuming the standard deviations if the two samples are
not same is given by, T = , where and are
two different sample sizes for population 1 and population
2 respectively.
