If a sample represent accurate or reflects population is called a sample representative. A representative sample should unbiased reflect about population. Sample should reflect same characteristics like population.

e.g If we have population of male and sample of female , here the sample does not represent or reflect the characteristics of population because genders are different in both

Also if we have interested in male height and sample has male weight data , so sample is not representative of population. Because characteristics of population and sample are different.
