State a problem and a testable Theory regarding the problem ( a theory is not a theory unless it is testable...), and then pose the two Ho and Ha hypothesis to test your Theory. Then, tell us how you apply the resulting hypothetical p to determine whether or not to reject the NULL Hypothesis. Try to do this using the Z or T statistic and the p- value concept. You don't have to use actual numbers and calculate - just talk your way through logic. Please give further explanations as you go through your stated problem.

Answer #1

Testing of hypothesis defined from the topics of Inferential Statistics. In this we study the data and we have to conclude whether the data is accurate or not by stating accepting condition or rejecting condition.

In testing first we have to identify null hypothesis . In this case both means are equal.

Next we have to identify alternative hypothesis , in this the mean values are not equal.

Next we have to find test stastical value.

For this we have to use Z test or T test.

Next we have to identify level of siginificance value.

We have to compare table value with Calculated value.

If the calculated value is less than table value , we have to accept the null hypothesis.

If the calculated value is greater than table value , we have to reject the null hypothesis.

Read carefully through the following problems (Questions 5-8). Each problem is accompanied by a null and an alternative hypothesis, and each set of hypotheses includes at least one mistake. We would like you to identify what the mistake(s) is/are. A claim is made that adults spend an average of $475 per year on birthday presents. A researcher believes this value is too low, and she sets out to gather data to test this claim. Her null and alternative hypotheses are...

1. A study at State University was to determine student opinions regarding non-revenue-generating athletics. Specifically, one question in a survey asked students "Do you think that the women's basketball program should be discontinued?" The data collected revealed that 350 of the 1,000 females surveyed (sample 1) responded "Yes" and 400 of the 1,000 males surveyed (sample 2) responded "Yes." Test if the proportion of females who agree to discontinue women’s basketball program is lower than the proportion among males. Use...
