If you divide your subjects into 2 groups and measure their blood cholesterol levels before and after treatment with a saskatoon berry extract or placebo, explain what statistical test you would use to analyze your data.

Answer #1

When the sample sizes are equal and observations are paired, they become dependent on each other, then to check whether the mean of these two population differ significantly or not,we use paired y test for difference of Means.

Here we divide our subject into two groups, one is the measure of cholesterol level before treatment say xi and another the measure of the cholesterol level after treatment say hi. So the observation is paired here and they become dependent on each other.

So we use paired t-test for difference of Means.
