One of the stated goals of many terrorist groups (including Al-Qaeda) is to cause governments to restrict freedoms to such an onerous degree that the population will revolt. In light of this knowledge, do you believe the National Security Agency’s warrantless collection of emails and phone records of American citizens is justifiably acceptable to Americans or might it cause the type of civil unrest hoped for by terrorists?

The National Security Agency’s warrantless collection of emails and phone records of American citizens is obviously going to cause a civil unrest as citizens will oppose the activities of the security agencies, as it will give them the gateway into spying on innocent citizens also which will lead to misuse of power and corruption and data stealing breaches.Hence there should be regulations when the NSA can do this, i.e with only warrants issued on showing some proof on the person or his/her suspiicious activities.
