Please explain steps. Create a 90% Confidence Interval of birds per tree from 24 samples and then write a statement about your confidence in the estimate. Mean # of birds per tree=4.6 birds per tree Standard Deviation=1.3 birds per tree

Answer #1

Solution :

Given that,

Point estimate = sample mean = = 4.6

sample standard deviation = s = 1.3

sample size = n = 24

Degrees of freedom = df = n - 1 = 23

t /2,df = 1.714

Margin of error = E = t/2,df * (s /n)

= 1.714 * (1.3 / 24)

Margin of error = E = 0.5

The 90% confidence interval estimate of the population mean is,

- E < < + E

4.6 - 0.5 < < 4.6 + 0.5

4.1 < < 5.1

(4.1 , 5.1)
