After two independant polls were conducted it was determined that 235 out of 312 adults in Florida attend the gym atleast once per week, while 154 out of 286 adults in Mississippi attend the gym atleast once per week. Construct and interpret a 98% confidence interval for the difference between the two population proportions.

n2 = 286, x2 = 154

Using TI-84 calculator we get, 98% confidence interval for the difference between the two population proportion is,

( 0.1257, 0.3078 )

Interpretation : we are 98% confident that the difference between the two population proportions is lies between 0.1257 and 0.3078
