Write the model for a binomial family using (a) the "probit" and (b) the "complementary log-log" links instead of the "logit" link (used in logistic regression). Are there any advantages to using different link functions?

I think this has to do with Generalized linear models, or logistic regression?

You work for a construction firm who need to be able to accurately predict the compressive strength of concrete given variables including the concrete composition and its age. You are aware that the relationship between these different components and the concrete strength is complex, however you have been asked to investigate how well a simple linear regression model works for prediction. Using the provided data (Concrete_Data.xls), develop models to predict: Concrete strength from the single best indicator variable; Concrete strength...

1) When we fit a model to data, which is typically larger? a) Test Error b) Training Error 2) What are reasons why test error could be LESS than training error? (Pick all that applies) a) By chance, the test set has easier cases than the training set. b) The model is highly complex, so training error systematically overestimates test error c) The model is not very complex, so training error systematically overestimates test error 3) Suppose we want to...

chooose all tye corrct answers to the question:- Q1) What are the best practices for building out good unit tests? - You do not need an assert statement for each edge case. - Write a test function to check for implementation given all parameters. - Have multiple assert statements to test for all edge cases. - Think about all edge cases before you write the function. - Run a test function to see if your function works in all edge...

In a small-scale regression study, we collected data on the number of children in a family Xi and the number of hours per week spent shopping Yi. The following data were obtained: i 1 2 3 4 5 6 Xi 2 6 3 1 1 9 Yi 13 17 12 12 9 22 Assume we performed a simple linear regression of Yi on Xi, i.e. E(Yi) = ?0 + ?1Xi (a) By hand compute X?X, X?Y, (X?X)-1, b, Y^(means Y-hat),...

Using C++, Python, or Java, write a program that: In this programming exercise you will perform an empirical analysis of the QuickSort algorithm to study the actual average case behavior and compare it to the mathematically predicted behavior. That is, you will write a program that counts the number of comparisons performed by QuickSort on an array of a given size. You will run the program on a large number of arrays of a certain size and determine the average...

Data Set Preparation (Using A JMP Folder) Can email you if comment your email. 1. (10 pts.) Using the “Toyota Corolla” data set on Canvas (Home à “JMP” à “(Under: JMP Data Sets folder)”, you will be modeling the “Price” of a car as the dependent variable (Y). Please select one independent variable (X) you think may help explain Price, from the following three: “Age”, “Mileage”, or “Weight” of a car. In the space below, state your choice and explain...

9.11 Table C.13 Anorexia data Ben-Tovim et al. (1979) report a case-control study to test hypothesis that anorexic people tend to overestimate their true waist measurements.Eight anorexic women were identified from a hospital in-patient unit and compared with 11 non-anorexic adolescent schoolgirls. The outcome variable used to compare cases and controls was the body perception index, BPI = 100 * (perceived waistwidth)/ (true waist width) The data collected were as follows: Subject number Waist width (cm) Cases True Perceived BPI...
