Answer #1

Solution:

Given that

The drug that is effective in 84% of cases.

Here probability of success is P(s) = 0.84

and by the complement rule P(f) = 1- P(s) = 1- 0.84 = 0.16

Since each chidren is independnet so

P(sss) = 0.84*0.84*0.84 = 0.592

P(ssf) = 0.84*0.84*0.16 = 0.112

P(sfs) = 0.84*0.16*0.84 = 0.112

P(sff) = 0.84*0.16*0.16 = 0.021

P(fss) = 0.16*0.84*0.84 = 0.112

P(fsf) = 0.16*0.84*0.16 = 0.021

P(ffs) = 0.16*0.16*0.84 = 0.021

P(fff) = 0.16*0.16*0.16 = 0.004
