As a hypothetical allergist, I wondered if the percentage of Americans that have common household pet (cat and dog) allergies differs between east coast and west coast. To find out, a random allergy clinic on the east and west coast were asked to poll 1500 patients each for the type of allergies they were being seen for. The clinic on the east coast had 162 patients identify as being seen due to pet allergies. The clinic on the west coast had 136 patients respond as being treated for pet related allergies. Is there significant evidence to conclude that the percentage of Americans with pet related allergies are higher on the east coast than the west at a 0.05 level of significance?

Hypotheses: Ho: p1 = p2 vs H1: p1 > p2
