An electrical engineer needs to order resistors for a new product. The new product requires the resistors to be as low a variance as possible. The engineer has to choose between company A and company B for the resistors. To find which company sells the lowest variance resistors the engineer ordered 12 resistors from company A and 15 from company B. The engineer finds the variance for the 12 resistors from company A is 0.22 ohms and the variance for the second group is 0.18 ohms. Test at α =0.005 wither company B resistors have A lower variance than the resistors from company A.
