The test statistic t is,

t = ( -  ) /  (s /   n)

t =( 424 - 400) / (83 / 53 )

t = ( 24 *  53 / 83 )

t = ( 24 *53 ) / 83

t = 2.10

Test  statistic   = 2.10

p value = 0.0401
