Independent sample t test, the value of the test statistic is t: -4.050 and the p value is 0. So we can easily reject the null hypothesis and conclude that there is a significance impact of race(white) on ones actual poverty. The samples are independent, that is why we are applying t test, (although it seems that a chi square test for independence would have been more appropriate)
since t value is very high, as compared to the critical value of t, hence we are able to easily reject the null hypothesis in favor of the alternative hypothesis that race affects ones actual poverty. Since p value < level of significance, again we come to the same conclusion.
