  • Possible outliers are directly revealed by measures of central tendency. However, if we compute median and then find the distance (difference) between each observation and the median, we do get some idea about a value being a possible outlier.
  • Again, depth of dispersion cannot be indicated by any measure of central. However, to measure the depth of dispersion, one definitely has to computed some measure of central tendency.
