What is a Joint probability calculation table? Please describe the joint probability calculation table (row, column, and formula applied). Please explain in detail. I will appreciate.
Joint Probability is the probability of both A and B taking place, denoted by P(AB)
Joint probability is not the same as conditional probability.Conditional probability assumes that one event has taken place or will take place, and then asks for the probability of the other (A, given B).
If A and B are independent then P(AB)=P(A)*P(B)
Example
P(A)=0.1666
P(B)=0.1666
P(A,B)=0.1666 x 0.1666)=0.02777
If A and B are not independent then P(AB) = P(A | B) * P(B)
Example
P(A | B) = 40%, and a probability of B = 60%
P(AB)=P(A|B)*P(B)=0.4*0.6=0.24
