Question

Can you please show me how to apply One-factor ANOVA to find F and P value in this problem. Which data do I use as my input range? Thank you. Here is the problem: Many studies have suggested that there is a link between exercise and healthy bones. Exercise stresses the bones and this causes them to get stronger. One study examined the effect of jumping on the bone density of growing rats. There were three treatments: a control with no jumping, a low-jump condition (the jump height was 30 centimeters), and a high-jump condition (60 centimeters). After 8 weeks of 10 jumps per day, 5 days per week, the bone density of the rats (expressed in mg/cm3 ) was measured. Here are the data:

obs group g density 1 Control 1 642 2 Control 1 604 3 Control 1 623 4 Control 1 624 5 Control 1 614 6 Control 1 592 7 Control 1 636 8 Control 1 605 9 Control 1 614 10 Control 1 632 11 Lowjump 2 670 12 Lowjump 2 621 13 Lowjump 2 686 14 Lowjump 2 640 15 Lowjump 2 621 16 Lowjump 2 630 17 Lowjump 2 679 18 Lowjump 2 626 19 Lowjump 2 722 20 Lowjump 2 628 21 Highjump 3 603 22 Highjump 3 627 23 Highjump 3 616 24 Highjump 3 603 25 Highjump 3 609 26 Highjump 3 654 27 Highjump 3 611 28 Highjump 3 659 29 Highjump 3 625 30 Highjump 3 601

Answer #1

you need to put these data in 3 columns like below:

Control | Lowjump | Highjump |

642 | 670 | 603 |

604 | 621 | 627 |

623 | 686 | 616 |

624 | 640 | 603 |

614 | 621 | 609 |

592 | 630 | 654 |

636 | 679 | 611 |

605 | 626 | 659 |

614 | 722 | 625 |

632 | 628 | 601 |

now from data -data analysis tab-ANOVA single factor -tick lables in first row ; and then select ok
