Correlation coefficient (positive, negative) defines direction of relationship, either positive or negative. A positive correlation coefficient means : as the value of one variable increases, the value of the second variable increases and as one decreases the other decreases. Whereas, a negative correlation coefficient indicates that as one variable increases, the other decreases, and vice-versa.

In this case increase in one varaible results in increase of the other variable,

therefore,

it is an example of a positive correlation
