Answer #1

Solution :

(a)

n = 80

x = 40

Point estimate = sample proportion = = x / n = 40 / 80 = 0.5

= 1 - 0.5 = 0.5

(b)

n = 90

x = 200

Point estimate = sample proportion = = x / n = 90 / 200 = 0.45

= 1 - 0.45 = 0.55

(c)

n = 130

x = 60

Point estimate = sample proportion = = x / n = 60 / 130 = 0.461

= 1 - 0.461 = 0.539

(d)

Point estimate = sample proportion = = x / n = 0.25

= 1 - 0.25 = 0.75

(e)

Point estimate = sample proportion = = x / n = 0.42

= 1 - 0.42 = 0.58
