What is the meaning of p hat and What is the meaning of the p-value? Explain how these two things relate to one another.

Homework Answers

Answer #1

p hat is basically used for the sample proportion and it can find out using the relation x/n.

whereas p-value is the probability of obtaining results as extreme as the observed results of a statistical hypothesis test, assuming that the null hypothesis is true. larger p-value means we have strong evidence to accept the null hypothesis.

on the basis of p hat we get the z statistic and on the basis of z stat we get p value form z table then on the basis of p value , we came to the result regarding the null and laternative hypothesis
