(a) Yes, the distribution is multinomial distribution. Multinomial distribution is a generalized binomial distribution. In binomial distribution, there will be only two possible independent outcomes, where are in multinomial distribution, there will be many possible indendent outcomes. In this experiment, the three possibilites are R,G,B which are independent of each other.

(b) Probability that Tom gets one of each color = (3C1*4C1*5C1)/(12C3) = 60/220 = 0.2727
