Question

Explain how linear regression could be used to test an hypothesis.

Explain how linear regression could be used to test an hypothesis.

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Linear regression analysis provides us with different data values corresponding to the given data set

It provides us with intercept value, slope coefficient and some other values.

To test a hypothesis using the linear regression, we can use the slope coefficient to test if there is any significant relationship between the dependent and independent or not.

For this hypothesis testing, we can use t test to find the test statistics and p value corresponding to the test statistics.

we can make final conclusion based on the p value and significance level.
