what tests/anaylsis techniques will you perform to answer the question 1) To what extent does gender influence length of hospital stay for MI patients?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

We have to variables, one is gender and other is length of hospital stay(days)

Gender is categorical variable as it can be either male or female only and length of hospital stay is numerican variable because it can be any number of days

Dependent variable is length of stay, i.e. numerical variable and independent variable is gender, i.e. categorical variable

So, an ANOVA test is most appropriate for this case as it is clear that dependent variable is numerical and independent is categorical.
