In my sample, i have gathered a group of 10 friends and asked each of them if they preferred vaping over smoking and a seprate group of those who dont prefer either one. 3 of my friends said they dont smoke at all, 5 of them prefer to vape and 2 dont do either one.
Please help me create a test to find a null and alternative hypothesis for this set of data using either a regression test, one sample t-test or a chi square distribution even if you have to manipulate the sample data.
Here you have to perform proportion test and that would be more accurate instead of the test given above.
Hence,group of 10 friends
3 of my friends said they dont smoke at all
5 of them prefer to vape
2 dont do either one
Following are the set of hypothesis for testing all the statements,
For not smkers,
H0: proportion of the friends who does not smoke = 0.3
H1: proportion of the friends who does not smoke is not 0.3
For vape,
H0: proportion of the friends who perfer vape = 0.5
H1: proportion of the friends who perfer vape is not 0.5
For smokers,
H0: proportion of the friends who does smoke = 0.2
H1: proportion of the friends who does smoke is not 0.2
