P(both are assigned to different branch) = ?

= number of ways different branches can be assigned to Renato and Elena/ total number of ways these 2 people can be allocated a branch

= 5*4 / 5*5

( as lets say Renato can be assigned any of the 5 branches, and then Elena is assigned any of the remaining 4 that Renato is not assigned to).

= 4/5

= 0.80

The probability that Renato and Elena will be assigned to different branches is 0.80
