Given that there are 15 observations and there is an outlier present in the data set.

The mean of the data set will be affected by the outlier, since mean is obtained by taking all observations into consideration. So, if the outlier is very large mean will be shifted towards right.

The median of the data set will not be affected by the outlier, since the median is just the middlemost observation. It is not obtained by taking all observations into consideration.
